Open Access

Open Access enables scientific research available online and to a wider public, free of charge and without legal restrictions. Open Access publications appear in Open Access journals or Open Access books. Researchers can publish their scientific works in Open access journals according to certain standards. Good Open Access journals observe the quality of their publications by applying thorough processes, particularly peer review. Peer review is a system through which scientists review each other's work. Modestum applies double-blinded peer-review to its journals.

The High Availability and Visibility: Everyone can freely access and download the full text of all articles. People do not need to pay any subscription or pay-per-view charges to access articles. Open Access publications are also more likely to be included in search engines and indexing databases.

The Higher Citation Impact: Open Access articles are more likely to be cited because of their high publicity and availability.

Lower Publishing Costs: Open Access publishers cover their costs for editorial handling and editing of a paper by charging authors, their institutes or research funding agencies. A one-time payment of an article processing charge (APC) is paid for each accepted article to cover the handling and editing. APCs of the Open Access journals are usually lower than the traditional journals.

Faster Publication: Open Access journals manage rapid publication of the articles by online-only availability. Accepted articles are published online more rapidly in Open Access journals than those of traditional, subscription-based and printed journals are.

Print-on-demand: We may provide the print copy of all our journals.
